I am enquiring on behalf of a good friend. Before she takes out the membership we would like to know how likely it would be that she will find a sitter for her cat with such short notice at this time of year.
She lives in Lewes in East Sussex, not far from the coast and will be away from the 10th to the 27th October.
If I see a listing pop up in my neighbourhood (50-200 km) and it is attractive: dates, house, amenities, which/ how many animals, behavior of the animals, etc. and the video-call gives me a good feeling, I would apply last-minute.
(In this case: dates would suit me, but I am not in the neighbourhood right now)
Lewes is lovely, so if she’s in the centre then hopefully it shouldn’t be too much of a problem, but it depends on a lot of factors because we don’t know anything about her home, and whether it is clean, tidy, inviting, what the bed situation is like etc. However, there’s a money back promise if they don’t get any applicants within 14 days of posting their dates. Now there’s no saying what the quality of those applicants will be like. But it may help you.
The fact it’s a cat will help a great deal, because with dogs there a lot more factors to think about, for example are there dog walks close by if it’s a rainy October, how often does it get walked, does it pull on the leader, the breed etc etc. So cat sits can appeal to a much wider range of sitters, which helps.
October is still awhile away. So if she has a tidy home in a location that people would want to visit and there’s nothing too unusual about the cat care, then it would be easy for her to find a sitter through THS.
