Can you still write a review for a sitter after the two week period.

Hi all, just wondering if you can still write a sitter review after the two week period has ended. The website seems to indicate you can’t but sitter thinks I still can. Advice please?

No you can’t. A shame to have missed the 14 day period as it’s very useful for other prospective sitters/home owners to read

No, the opportunity to leave a review has passed.

As others have said, no. All you can do is reply to their review if they have written one for you. It’s a one-time option to do that, but there is no time limit for when you can reply to their review of you.

You can’t leave a review after 14 day deadline . However the sitter can send you a link for you to write an external reference .

Welcome to forum @RosieK1 !

As mentioned over, the period for reviews is 14 days only. The reviews are blind, the other party can not see your review before they have submitted theirs or the review period is up and the window closed. If we could write reviews after, then the reviews wouldn’t be blind, and IMO lose their value. Too many would then not be honest and thereby misleading the community.

So if your review period is up, your option is to

-write a response to the review you’ve got. It would then only be visible on your page, not theirs.

-Write an external reference as Silversitters suggests. (The other party would probably only want that if they think you will give a good review.)

If it is time issues regarding writing a review - only a very short review is needed, it would only take a few minutes. If you want/need to write a longer one, one can start writing during sit, or keep a general draft to start each review with.

If the review is difficult to write, one can get help here on forum (or ask an AI tool for help with a draft). The difficult reviews are often the most important to write, I think. It can be done in a kind and nice way, and just describe what took place in a factual manner.

Reviews are an important foundation for our community. To let others know what we’d like to know before committing to a sit, to help learning (for ourselves, our sitpartners and others), to nurture the good sitters and hosts and to give credit where credit is due. The last point - also save the praise for those who deserve it and follow the terms and ethos of THS. If we cover up for breaches (I’m not talking about the odd dust bunny) we do a disservice to those members that put a lot of effort in a good sit.

I hope you find a good way to do what you had in mind!

I am always curious as to why sometimes reviews aren’t written in a timely fashion- mostly I write a draft whilst I’m still on the sit. Then when the date comes after the sit is finished (it’s usually 24 hours later) I review my draft then edit it a bit if needed and send it in.
