Contacting a potential sitter

Hello, newbie here. I have a few sits lined up and have just spotted another but it overlaps be a few days. The sit has low applications
I wondered whether I could put to them I am available for most of it, but they would need someone else for the end. However, it seems I cannot put this to them.
The case is for two weeks over Christmas/New Year. I can do Christmas and thought maybe someone else could do New Year, if they are struggling to get sits.
Is there anyway to contact them to discuss this? Thanks

Since you already have overlapping sits you can’t reach out to them.

Split sits are not a good idea. If anything goes wrong, who gets the blame? Also, who gets the review. You can’t contact them if you already have a sit on any of their dates.

Welcome @Sj1 - you could ask another sitter to contact them on your behalf .

How do I do that? Sorry new to this

Thanks, i was thinking maybe they could amend their dates.

I was thinking they could split the dates. Maybe a friend could pop by for a handover. Just trying to see how this can work.

@Sj1 There’s no official way to do this , but someone on the forum might DM you and offer to do so . However sitters that already have confirmed sits for those dates themselves will also not be able to contact the hosts .

If you favourite the sit  - there’s a chance that the owner may message you directly .

Hi Sj1,

Welcome to the Community.

It’s a really good question - thanks for asking it. :grinning:

I’d echo @Chrissie’s post, this isn’t something which we’d encourage as there are so many variables which could create a domino impacting multiple members and their pets.
