Most of the pet parents takes so long to answer back, some im waiting for more then a week.
Must have a deadline for them to choose, because most of the sitters are travelers, so we can not make any plans without the answer back.
Just put a deadline would not hurt anyone, i mean, they already put the sit available, they already know they gonna need it, just take some time do pick one sitter, that would be awesome for us sitters do our plans.
You can set your own deadline.
Or not. Just keep applying for other sits.
As an owner, I can attest that sitters also delay responding to confirming a sit. We are new to THS. One sit under our belts. Our first sitters set a very high bar for all those who might follow.
Then for our June sit, we had a young lady apply whom we had a video call promptly. All went well. We sent our confirmation to the sitter within 2 hours of the interview. After 2 days of no response, we had another applicant. I sent a note letting her know we had another applicant and that we would be talking with them if we didn’t hear back from her. She confirmed the sit within about 12 hours. Then after about 2 weeks, she sent a request to cancel the sit. No good reason given - just unforeseen circumstances. We didn’t report her as we felt it would go no where. We cancelled the sit as we felt we might have dodged a bullet.
The next sitter that we chatted with seemed good. Again, we made an offer with 2-3 hours of the video chat. Then, a surprise request to bring his girlfriend. We decided to say it was okay if she came along. But then after 3 days of no answer to our confirmation, we rescinded our offer as he asked for 2 more days to decide. It felt as though he had another sit interview lined up. We rescinded the invite and interviewed another applicant.
So far, so good. The newest confirmed sitters reply quickly. The video call went very well and they confirmed the sit within an hour of making the offer.

The thing is, you want to go to europe, you apply to a sit in spain, greece o germany.
You can not leave to buy a flight ticket from other continent last minute bc gets expensive.
Just saying that would be really helpful if the plataform had a deadline for the parents so they dont keep you waiting forever.

Would be great to have deadlines for both parts. When just leave it open leave spaces for delay of both parts.
Or at least a “status” like considering, interviewing… Just to at least know that we are beeing considered, and to the owner as well.
Do you know that you can send additional messages to the Owners?
Of course, you don’t want to harass the Owner, but you can give a gentle nudge, “Please let me know as soon as possible if you are considering me as I am actively planning my travel to Spain.”
The countries you mention have far fewer Sit opportunities compared to other countries, so I imagine that the competition is fierce. Stay positive! Best of luck to you.
