Hi, I’d like to find a way to let home owners know where I’m available and when, so I can hopefully join a sit onto something already planned there . e. g I’m going to a festival in Albufeira at the beginning of October and would like to add one or two weeks sitting in the region beforehand if possible. How can I let owners know ?
You can’t is the short answer unfortunately @HeatherD - the best thing you can do is change your profile location as you start to look for sits in the chosen area and then when you apply the HOs will see that you are (or plan to be) close to their home and pets. #workaround

And it is possible that a host might send invitations to “local” sitters. So then it can be good to explain about your location and the festival in your profile, maybe even in the title.
Also save sits in your desired location. Ive had HO reach out to me when I’ve saved their sits.

Many thanks to all. Yes, I’m ‘favouriting’ locations in the right region and hoping. I’ll maybe try changing my location too and hope people will latch on. I was hoping there was a way you could put filters on or say ‘looking for sits in ? between ? And ? Thanks for the suggestions

Sure. Easiest to do this in the web interface probably. I saved map searches with date filters when I was looking for something specific.

You can also update your profile with details of when and where you’re available.
Oh, how , as I’ve been told o can’t. I just thought it would be great to be able to say ‘I’m looking for somewhere in this area around these dates ‘
It would be so useful to others to , to be able to say what sits here doing where and when , so they could join some up especially with th e cost of flights and travel

Ok I was wondering the same thing. It won’t let me put my availability or country of interest.
Do THS read the community threads? It would make it easier for owners too to be able to search for people who were in the area or wanted to be. I’ll maybe ring them on Monday.

But that does not work. Most members seem to leave that at “all the countries of the world”. And the availability calendar is just as useless (for example: there is no key/legend).

You could also put it in that short blurb under your photo in your profile “currently seeking sits in X area between Y dates”
Are there any updated answers to this topic? I want to travel to South Korea. I am a pet owner now and love animals. I have visited SK a few times, and my dates and locations in the country are flexible. I am clean, tidy, and respectful, and I will work around a pet owner’s needs. I think that if people knew they could easily find a pet sitter, they would be more likely to use the platform. Any ideas on what to do?

There are quite a few sits in SK, we’ve just completed one on Geoje island and there are some more on there, also in Busan, Seoul, JeJu Island and Daegu that come up. Set the alerts for the dates and the whole country and also favourite the specific sits you like too as those are sometimes faster. They do go quickly. You may want to set your location to SK as well and explain in your profile when you’ll arrive in the region as that may help. #lovedsk
