I was wondering if there is a way to let pet owners know that pet sitters will be traveling and available in their area and they can consider booking a vacation or seeing family.
For instance, May 3-7, I’m happy to Housesit in Luxembourg, but there are none. I wish I could let those owners know that I’d be available and I would assume they would love to go somewhere.

No there is no way to do that. The closest you could come to something like this would be changing your location to where you would like to be, and making a note in your profile you would like to visit this area during X time, or are already planning on coming on X dates, and that you have set your location as such so hosts looking to issue direct invites can see your interest.
And maybe by some luck there will be a host who is interested in personally inviting sitters for a trip with similar dates, and will see your profile.
One thing that could be helpful–which you may already be aware of–is that you can ‘favorite’ sits in a particular area that don’t have active listings. and you can get notified if one goes live. But you can’t choose specific dates–you will get notified of any sit in that location.
You can see ‘sits not currently accepting applications’ after current listings or the message stating there aren’t any.
This is a great idea. I have past Home owners on WhatsApp so I can contact if I’m in the area but a better system would be great for both Home Owners and Sitters. Here my sit finishes on Sunday but Home Owners are happy for me to stay an extra week. I hope to make myself useful to them.
