Discover Pet Sitting Jobs - advertisement from TrustedHousesitters

I’m struck by the lack of diversity in the photos with “sitters”. They seem aimed at straight, white, people only :frowning:

And you wouldn’t be able to “hire” a petsitter who couldn’t work legally in the US!

Ha. YOUNG, conventionally attractive too!

However, the text would be more correct as:

“No more hotel costs. Stay in amazing locations for free by providing house & pet care for free” which shows that both parties are getting something for free (not just the sitter getting free accommodation).

@cat.tails - we are told it is all about the pets (the reason for the recent overlapping sits fiasco) - so shouldn’t it be pet and house care?

I agree with you.

If the ads were targetting home/pet owners, the wording would be more along the lines of:

“No more kennel or cattery costs. Get amazing in-home pet sitters for free.”

Most of the ads that I receive seem to target potential pet sitters. Maybe there is another group of ads that are targetted at HOs?

This ad seems to be directed towards HOs / PPs, right?

I agree. I wasn’t comfortable with my age being displayed on my profile. I said this at the very beginning when first signing up and the response from the THS support member was a very flummoxed “I don’t know what to say.” I’d prefer that it wasn’t there personally speaking.

cute pic of dogs siting on a bridge in an English village or town. Hope they don’t fall into the river below! I’m thinking this might be the type of pic that a responsible pet sitter will never take - what if the poor little doggies fall and drown?

They really look photoshopped in, but if not 'm thinking a car is going to come down that road and hit them. And if they were MY dogs, and a sitter posed them for that photo, I’d be livid.

Not photoshopped. Here is an interview with the photographer, Megan Williams:

Looks like Shaftesbury in Dorset @cat.tails - many an advert has been filmed there if so :raised_hands:t3:

Hi @Cuttlefish @cat.tails It’s Castle Combe village in the Cotswolds :slightly_smiling_face:

@Jenny it would be great if (with member’s permission ) actual THS pets and homes photos were used in advertising -
there could be a competition for photos with entrants giving permission for photos to be used and prizes for the winning entries.

That’s a really cool idea @Silversitters - I’ve fed that back to the team - and I’ll give you a shout if I hear anything back
