Do HOs see their sitters' reviews before they write theirs?

Hi Everyone!

I’m trying to understand how the timing of reviews works, once a sit has been completed.

Every time I complete a sit, TH invites me to write a review before I can see the HO’s review. If I don’t write one within a certain timeframe, I lose my chance.
Overall this is not an issue, as I am usually quite objective in my reviews and don’t base them on what HOs would say about me.

However, is it the same for HOs? Do they see my review before they write theirs?

The reviews are now a “blind” system. A timeframe of 14 days goes by before either the homeowner or the sitters’ reviews are posted. So no, neither the homeownern or the sitter can see each other’s reviews until they are posted.

Thank you @Globetrotter !
It sounds like the right way of handling reviews.

I am often under the impression that sitters’ reviews are unrealistically rosy, so that got me wondering if that’s to avoid a retaliation from the HO. But if reviews are blind, then it’s not the case.

In general, I still think that reviews should be taken with a pinch of salt.
I have been previously misled by glowing reviews and ended up having less than ideal experiences because of difficult pets. I’m talking about objective difficulties such as separation anxiety or excessive barking.

Well, there’s also the fact that everyone has different priorities and tolerances. What might be fine to one sitter might not be for someone else. And some people frequently find fault. Reviews will never be objective.
