Do You Get Attached to A pet

Hi @ChristineH Whether it is seconds, minutes, or hours, it does not take long for animals to leave a lasting impression on our hearts. :revolving_hearts:

Hi @ChristineH welcome back it’s been a while, we have missed you …

What you describe we have all heard so many times and I can so identify as it happens to me every time. This is why we do what we do and why pets are the real winners as @anon49809275 says …

and for TrustedHousesitters it can be any pet, I cried when I left a flock of rescued chickens. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

We just returned from a week at one of our favorite local house sits. We were the homeowners first sitters on THS and have been their only sitters since we applied on their initial sit in 2016. They don’t go on vacation without asking if we’re available and we’ve become the best of friends We feel truly blessed as we love their home and location but more importantly we love their dog but he has just turned 15. On this last sit I noticed the dog is starting to age - and me too  but I’m already preparing myself for the inevitable as I love this dog as much as our homeowner friends do. It definitely will be difficult news when he passes and I know I’ll be shedding many tears.
