Yes an Amazon Echo is a recording device. It temporarily records everything that is said and permanently stores all conversations where it thinks it hears it’s activation phrase.
It can also be used by the owner to “listen in” to anything being said in the room.
It shouldn’t be required for anything so if you’re not using it to control lights or play music etc you can just unplug it or turn off the power.
If you go to the Bluetooth on your phone/ipad set up you might find it? If you’re not sure, unplug it?
I had one at a sit and unplugged it from electric outlet just incase.
