There have been several topics on this problem. seems to be a common theme. HOs don’t seem to realise that if they delay, then sitters will move on. Also, is it a ‘red flag’ that the HO is not fully engaged, is poor at communication, is not considering the sitter POV? Do you think thats a good match for you?

I am a sitter, so pardon my intrusion on this board. But this is also for “advice” to HOs, so I’ll offer some, fwiw: When a potential sitter takes the time to apply to your listing, a polite response within a day or so is appropriate, even if just a simple “thanks for applying, I’ll get back to you soon”.

It would be great if TH would give homeowners a nudge to respond to sitters applications after a week or so. I have 2 sits that I applied for a month ago. They both received 5 applicants very quickly. I did reach out to one of them after a week, asking if they would be making a decision anytime soon. They read it, but they did not reply. The dates and location are perfect for me, so I still want to hang on. Has this been brought up before?
