Humble request to hosts

Please do not leave applicants hanging for long periods of time. We cannot plan our lives if we do not know whether/which sit we will be offered. Once your sit moves into “reviewing applications,” please communicate with all candidates and let them know that status of their application.
Respectfully,
Lynn

Slow responders soon learn when you apply for other sits and they lose out.

The answer is simple. Apply for multiple sits and accept the first sit offered to you and withdraw your other applications with a not saying you’ve accepted another sit.

I certainly understand that it’s frustrating when HO’s don’t respond in a timely manner. But many sitters experience this, and often. Some HO’s don’t quite realise that they need to respond & move quickly with applicants (they usually lose out), some are already talking to other applicants and might not even see your message, and some end up finding alternative solutions to THS and forget about or abandon their account. Most of us give HO’s about 3 days or so to respond, otherwise we cancel our application and move on to the next. It can be annoying, I know, but applying for multiple sits at once & trying to be one of the first applicants is key (saved searches help with this!)

If I see a listing I like, but also see that they already have 3 or 4 applicants, I might still try my luck and apply but I already know that my chances are pretty slim and they probably won’t even respond :smiling_face_with_tear:

24-48 hours then I’m gone after sending a message…… and I move onto another listing and archive any messages from the non responding HO.
