First sitter arranged but may need to cancel

Hi, we have arranged our first sitter and she is travelling from Poland in 2 weeks time. My youngest daughter is very ill with the possibility of being hospitalised but we won’t know this until it happens. Should I be contacting the sitter now to make her aware of the situation or wait until we know more, which may be very short notice. thanks

Very sorry to hear about your daughter @paulab -wishing her a speedy recovery. It would definitely be more considerate to contact your sitter now to keep her in the loop rather than later- all the best.

Again, inform the sitter immediately and agree to cancel the sit promptly if required, so that he/she will be free to arrange another sit.

Best wishes for your daughter’s speedy recovery.

I’d say it’s better to contact the sitter now and give her a heads up about the situation. It’s only fair to let her know what she might be walking into, and it’ll give her a chance to prepare or make arrangements if needed. Plus, it’s always better to be upfront and transparent, especially when it comes to caring for a sick child.

I would say contact her now.
