Has the TH app been updated so messages are marked as "Read"?

@MichaelinVA02 That’s good that you finally withdrew your application. In the end it does not really matter if they read it or not. The fact is they did not respond in any way! So that’s enough of an indicator to just move on. Onwards & upwards! Good luck with your next application!

Sorry meant to send this to @MichaelinVA02 I never used it from the beginning. As a homeowner, there was a period of time pre-THS, when I used the “Time to Pet” app because I was using a service that used it. That was for drop in visits. It was easy and similar to texting. And I knew when the updates would be coming. But if someone is staying in my apartment and any situation or emergency develops, I’d much rather get a text – for my updates back to them as well. It’s direct communication.

The THS app and website both feel clunky to me. There seems to be a lag. I’m not sure if there is a timestamp or just a day. The way the emails are stacked makes it hard to read. It’s just not useful. Texts or whatsapp are just easier. I use them anyway. I check them anyway. I’m not going to miss them.

As both a sitter and homeowner, I want to make sure the person got my messages and that I have a way to contact them where they can get the messages quickly. I don’t want a sitter who is only going to check my messages once a day or less and not see the important update I realized I forgot about the cat’s new medication, or not see that an important package is waiting downstairs and I really need them to bring it up before it gets stolen, or whatever other thing that can’t wait.

I wouldn’t do a sit without a way to reach the homeowner immediately. It also allows me to send them daily updates more quickly. I wouldn’t accept a sitter who is literally sleeping on my bed but doesn’t want me to have their phone number or doesn’t have a smart phone.

@Marion - Yes, whenever I’m on a sit or doing a house and pet sitting job with 1 of my regular clients, I’m using text or emails… WhatsApp if my client is going overseas.

I will use the THS website for the first couple of messages, then I’ll provide my phone number and email address for further messages.
