We’ve been housesitting around the world since the end of 2015. We returned home for Christmas 2019 and missed leaving again in March to go to Australia to see family due to the Covid lockdown.
Not being able to access our apartment due to having a tenant, we have been housesitting our way around the North Island. Will have access in February. It’s been fun and challenging at times due to the regional lockdown in Auckland but not complaining.
Hoping to be able to sort out our apartment and fly off to Australia again to visit some of the pets we’ve looked after and find some new pet friends to spoil.

How have you enjoyed home based pet and housesitting compared to your world travels, have you discovered things about home you might otherwise would never have known and how different are handovers with owners since COVID?
Also great to hear you will have your base back in Feb., and you have plans to visit Australia to reconnect with furry friends and meet new ones, it’s what we love to do.
