I’m having trouble finding a house and pet sitter over the holidays for three dogs. I had someone committed a month ago but they have ghosted me and now I’m in panic mode. Any advice?
Is their account active? Are your messages shown as read (check the app and the web interface).
If you have a phone number, you could make a voice call.
It is showing as read and she won’t respond to my text messages
Welcome @jmchampson sorry that you find yourself in this situation. It must be very stressful.
After you confirmed the sitter did they accept - is it showing on your dashboard ?
You can ask member service to contact the sitter on your behalf . They have contact phone numbers etc .
E-mail support@trustedhousesitters.com Titling it asURGENT or use live chat and ask to speak to a human ( not the chatbot Frankie )
Please let us know how you get on and these threads my give you some hope .
Hi @jmchampson , when you say ‘someone commited’, did they actually confirm the sit or did it just seem to you that they wanted it?
We met on Zoom, accepted her application, texted back and forth. Seemed like she wanted to but no, hasn’t confirmed the sit after we accepted her application. She is new to the app, as are we.
@jmchampson in that case you don’t have a confirmed sitter so it’s back to the drawing board .
If you link your listing here forum members can give advice on how to make improvements that will attract more applications.

You can also send a message to the sitter saying that she needs to accept the sit by xx (give a deadline ) meanwhile as you have not heard from her you are looking for alternative sitters .
If they didn’t accept the confirmation, I would say to move on. Sometimes we can get busy with our live but they never “officially” confirm so technically there is nothing for support to reach out.
You are right. Already moving on!
If you don’t mind, where/when is your sit? posting the listing does help.
