Hi Everyone
I’ve just joined and we’re waiting for our listing to be approved. I’m a little confused about searching for a sitter though…
We live in Wimbledon, London and are looking for a sitter for a week in the summer (not during the tennis!) for our dog. How do you search? I’m guessing the sitters that already live in London don’t want a London pet?? Apologies - it’s a basic question but I can’t seem to work it out!
Thank youuuuu!

Welcome @shazzamazz to THS and the forum.
No need to search for sitters , once your listing is published sitters who are interested and available will apply to you .
You can then consider their applications and if they seem suitable follow up with a video call / phone call or messages through the THS inbox .Keep in mind that potential sitters likely will have questions for you too , so a video call is often the preferred option where you can both chat ask questions and see if it’s going to work out for both of you .
If after your conversation you are sure that they are the one - you can then confirm them and then they can either accept or decline .

Hello and welcome!
You usually don’t search for sitters yourself. You publish your ad and sitters choose to apply. (You can if you want send invites to particular sitters, but this rarely works)
You’ll get 5 sitters. After that your ad is paused and you need to either accept one of the five or decline all and reopen the sit for another five.
You’d be amazed at how many sitters that live in London are happy to do London sits. Sometimes it’s because they want to discover a new area or because they might want to get a welcome break from co-housing.
Always have a videochat before confirming a sitter, that way you can get a feel for them and see if you’d be a good match.
Good luck!

I think I’ve found your listing - the photos look great .
The responsibility section needs to have information that the sitter would like to know before they apply .
For example what time your dog is fed / is walked for how long and where ?
Also very important to state is how many hours your dog can be left alone for .
If your dog is on medication or has any medical issues or behaviour that the sitter should be aware of ( anxiety , pulling on leads etc )
Where your dog sleeps . Can they be taken with the sitter on trains, buses to cafes etc .

You will surely already have your five. London sits would be in demand. Don’t assume sitters will all be local. Lots of people want to visit and Wimbledon tennis or not is a great area to be.
