You donât mention whether youâre a sitter or owner, so do a search and check out other peoples profiles with lots of reviews, and find one that you think looks appealing to you, then use it as base to write your own.
Hi there, are you a sitter or a pet parent? If youâre a pet parent, then yes, your listing will need to be as attractive as you can make it. Here are some blogs that may help:
You can find plenty of other blogs and helpful articles under the blog section on the webpage.
If youâre a sitter, then it helps to have some external references and list specific experience or pet care skills that you have, (e.g: âI have the strength and experience to handle dogs who may pullâ not just âI love dogs!â). It can also help to apply for local sits first to build up your reviews, and then head further afield.
You can also use the spyglass here on the forum to search threads, as there hundreds of discussions about writing listings and sitter profiles. Once youâve written your listing or sitter profile you can add it to your forum bio so members can view it and give feedback.
Hope that helps!
There is lots of information on the website and see other replies
Hello,
Yes - I failed to mention this ⌠we are home/pet owners.
Obviously you need to include all the usual things, but the main thing that âsomeâ owners get wrong (ie the ones that come on the forum feeling deflated if they are struggling to get applicants), is they donât reveal anything about themselves, yes they put info about their pets, but they seem to forget that as sitters, we need to feel like we know who we are sitting for, we need to feel a connection with the owners.
Your âintroductionâ is the part we read first, so make sure a sitter feels like they know you as a person or family straight away in this part, or they may not read on.
Also, make sure your main pic is the most attractive and enticing pic you have, thatâs the one that needs to stand out against all of the rest. Thatâs another thing some owners forget.
Welcome, Christyaccđ
Under the tab âHome and Location,â please give a fairly specific description so that potential sitters can determine if they would like to apply.
For instance:
â˘5 miles/km from Heathrow Airport â˘ten minute walk to The Louvre
â˘near the intersection of PCH & Santa Monica Blvd.
You can try a draft and come back to this thread an link it for critique. Iâd recommend looking at other listings to get a sense. (The system call homeownerâs pages listings and sitter pages profiles. This kind of makes sense as homeowners or hosts are âlistingâ a property and sitters are offering a profile.
