Did you read my post that you responded to?
If I were really interested in applying to such sits, I’d look into renting a vehicle or driving my own. I wouldn’t automatically expect the HO to loan me theirs.
To me, it’s all part of the costs and considerations of sitting.
Yes.
I fail to see why you are making this about me.
Good for you.
It’s interesting that you frame it in such a way - that it’s the sitters’ expectation that the home owner provides use of their vehicle.
Whereas, in fact, it’s actually predominantly an expectation of the of the HO listing their sit that the sitter has use of their own vehicle (rental or otherwise). It’s clearly stated on many listings almost as though it’s the preeminent qualification for a sitter - never mind the fact that they’re trustworthy, considerate and caring etc.
I am simply stating that I believe such expectations from HO in remote locations with no access to amenities or public transport to be unreasonable if they themselves would not live in that location without use of a vehicle. And I would never apply for a sit where I thought a HO had unreasonable expectations of anyone coming to look after their pets and home.
Where you deduced that I expect a home owner to provide their own vehicle is totally unclear to me— I stated the complete opposite.
I invite you to re-read my previous comment.
A sitter can be caring, trustworthy, etc., etc., but, as I’ve already mentioned, can also have accidents. Also, insurance in some countries is extremely expensive.
I made no such deduction.
