I must admit I do always find it strange when someone writes ‘my dogs are my life’. And then is going off traveling for a substantial part of the year but if they weren’t doing that we wouldn’t get a chance to sit!
In many countries, there are huge problems with strays and overcrowded shelters. Many people are just dumping their post-COVID unwanted pets or backyard-bred animals at shelters—or not even bothering to take them to shelters. The numbers are so high that it’s considered a crisis in parts of the U.S., France, etc. So, besides the fact that someone on THS may get a sit they want, be grateful that these pets have homes, consistent meals, and someone who cares enough to ensure someone is taking care of them.
