House without a pet

Hi, we are new to THS and have a question.

We signed up for sitters to care for our dog,Maisie.

Next year we would like to take a 5 week break but want to take Maisie with us.
Are there sitters that are happy to spend this much time in one area ,without a pet to look after? Basically looking after our home.

Thank you in advance

As a sitter, I’d have no problem with that. I recently got offered a house sit in another country without pets but unfortunately due to a family emergency had to cancel after accepting it. There aren’t too many sits without pets so I’m sure this would be appealing to sitters.

Absolutely!!! Of course!! Bring it on!

For me it would depend on the home and area but it would be a very appealing prospect to certain sitters.

@Ellejay

Sits with no pets are rare and long sits are always popular

You will be inundated with applications!

Where are you? We would possibly be interested

We are happy to do house sits that are just house sits , with no pets . We also prefer long sits . Which country are you in ?

Welcome to the forum @Ellejay. I’m booked to do a 5 week house sit only in February/March in Queensland, Australia. The main reason is that this is cyclone season and the owners need to know their home will be safe in that time. I’m sure you will have no difficulty securing excellent sitters!

You’ll probably have great choice among sitters for a pet-free sit. Worth picking someone whom you feel great about.

We are in Spain :es: not on the coast, a little white village with loads of summer entertainment.

Sounds perfect - you shouldn’t have any problem finding a great sitter.

Yes, I think a lot of sitters would love a break from pets for a while as a change, we love pets, but we also need a break now and again. The timescale isn’t a problem at all, we love longer sits.

Just checked the weather. We would love to help you if it is not June to September (too hot for us). Please keep us in mind! Our profile is linked.

We love that area! It would be so fun to immerse ourselves in your culture!

I have done just 2 housesits without pets. Happy to consider especially if located in a lovely area. I see you’re in Spain. I’ve had Andalucía saved for months but nothing…

Hello, My family is considering t moving to Montreal Quebec in the future. We know that many homeowners with or WITHOUT pets fly south to Florida, as we have met a few while in Florida as well. If anyone is in need of house sitter this coming fall/winter please reach out to me. We are looking in the area of Griffintown or Old Montreal. Thanki you, Ava

Form an orderly queue
I think you have your answer.
Have a lovely time away with Masie, this is my little part time dog of the same name.

We did a housesit last year in Vancouver WA. The folks had two dogs but took them camping. I made sure all of their plants were watered. I’m sure you’ll get lots of applicants
