Happily, our dog is lazy and sleeps much later than I do. The only times he’s woken me are when he’s needed to go outside overnight, when his tummy was bothering him, rarely. Such a good boy. Or when he hears wildlife outside and thinks he needs to protect us by barking like crazy.

It’s almost like he’s hungry :joy:

I used to have a cat that would perch on top of the bookcase-headboard of my bed, then jump and land (heavily!) on my stomach before steamrolling onward to wait by his food bowl in the kitchen…

I had a cat that would come and lie on my head to wake me up…

By the sound of the ocean. I’ve got no pets.

Me neither

At the moment it’s the light mornings here in Perth that wake me up well before 6am. In November it was light at 4.30am! Now it’s a little later around 5.15. So all the animals (2 dogs & 4 cats) are now used to being fed around 6.15am while I make the morning coffee. I don’t think our hosts have such an early schedule so the poor furry family will have to readjust when we’re gone!:cat_face::woozy_face::flushed_face:

Our pup is an alarm clock. 6-6:30 am we get soft whining before we have to get up.

An hour prior, our cats are nuzzled up next to us

We love our early mornings with our critters!

I love being woken up by sunrise. However here in England that’s after 8am atm! Hardly worth getting up! :joy::rofl:

lol. When they howl for carrots first thing in the morning it is. Sorry it displeased you.

I wasn’t displeased, I’ve looked after a few dogs who like carrots

@Lokstar It’s those 4.30am sunrises in England in June that wake me!!

@temba Yes! High summer in UK is the same as here in WA. I always appreciate good black out blinds!!

My beloved RyeBread (whose loss I will never , ever overcome) used to drape himself over my head like a fascinator hat at some point in the night. I would awaken to him posing as my crown.

And his little side-kick, Mango, used to gently stroke my cheek when I didn’t hear the alarm.
