How do homeowner's protect their pets and homes during a sit?

You have every right to be upset if your sitters did not do a good job.

I do believe most sitters take the responsibilities seriously.

I believe that in the app interface you could have seen if these awful sitters had any sits where the HOs did not give a reference.

Unfortunately this is not the case. A HO’s profile will show the gap in reviews in the app, but a sitter’s profile will not. I only recently learned this even after being on THS for almost two years! Here’s a thread about it.

Why can't owners see if a sitter has no review after a sit?

Dear community I noticed that with the THS App you can see on the owners feedback site if there was a sit and if the sitter didn’t give it a review, but conversely you can’t see if a sitter did a sit and the owner didn’t give it a review. I would find it very important as an owner to see if the sitter had many sits without reviews, that would be very meaningful to me, conversely it is also very meaningful if an owner has not received any feedback. There’s some confusion about it because a sitter can see the gaps on their own profile, but anyone else viewing their profile will not see the gaps.

This is horrible! I am so sorry this happened to you. I would be super upset about my dog being injured and the sitters not being able to explain that. The lack of cleanliness is also very bad. I don’t think this is the typical experience. All of the pet parents who have chosen us said they’ve had great experiences with multiple sitters.

I was thinking exactly the same thing? I read these posts and think wow, I’m amazed at some of the stuff that happens to other HO & HS??? I’ll continue to just keep my spidey senses flowing and also continue to wear my rose coloured glasses. Life is wonderful!
