That is a good point although the most recent post I reported actually stated in the text that they were looking for 8 hours of pet care and others have referred to needing care whilst owner was out at work for certain afternoons so I guess there is a mix of simple errors and others not knowing the THS requirement.
To write to the HO do you click “apply” and send a message ? Or have you found another way to contact them?

There’s one in my area that contacted us to see if we would care for the pets here and there while they were away during the day. I thought it odd as well.
@SalomeL I reported a post yesterday via email. The listing had the wrong city and state, to try to lure in more applications. Customer service had the listing updated to the correct city and state in less than an hour. The chat isn’t great - time consuming and canned responses for the most part. The email seems better.
To those commenting on Foster Animals: yes the people should add them to the listing, but please take a supportive approach and not an angry or retaliatory reaction. Misrepresenting sits is a big issue. However, the people fostering are doing a very needed good deed.
The U.S. - and other countries - are in a homeless pet crisis; I’m involved in the rescue world and it’s really devastating right now. Probably the worst it has ever been. The lack of fosters is part of the crisis status. So, please be kind and understanding. Don’t punish or scare people away from fostering.

Thanks. I have fostered almost 80 animals (mostly cats) so far. I live in Texas, where the amount of abandoned, dumped, surrendered, animals is at epic proportions. Shelters are euthanizing for space, and desperate for fosters. Anything that makes fostering easier should be encouraged.
When i see a post that mentions foster cats, I feel more inclined to apply because I support the HOs. I would never report such a post because (a) I encourage fostering and (b) It’s not my job to police THS listings.

Yes absolutely, be kind to animals and foster them. Please be kind to your pet sitters too and tell them exactly what responsibilities are waiting for them.
