How house sitting filled a pet-shaped gap

“A great pet sitter treats the animals as if it were yours, giving them attention, care and love. Also, a great pet sitter should be responsible, keep them safe and do what is the best for the animals. Don’t forget to take good care of the house while you’re living there.”

I knew even before reading that I was going to relate to this article. When we lost our two cats we didn’t get new pets as we knew we were going to travel a lot, and we really missed having four-legged family members.

At the time we didn’t even know about Trusted Housesitters, but our experience with is has been fantastic. We also sold/donated/stored everything and are now traveling/sitting with no particular end in mind, and just thorughly enjoying the animals we’re taking care of.

Have to echo this great advice from Bentinho and Capitu. It’s our philosophy as well: “A great pet sitter treats the animals as if it were yours, giving them attention, care and love. Also, a great pet sitter should be responsible, keep them safe and do what is the best for the animals. Don’t forget to take good care of the house while you’re living there.”

@Michael1 yes, I also believe this is such a relatable topic as we also lost our baby girl a year ago and it was devastating. Having the ability and opportunity to care for someone else’s little ones is such a heartwarming feeling as we know we are giving them the best love outside of their family and gives us the love and snuggles we miss so much!
