We all know that the notifications for saved searches are mostly useless - coming hours after the listing is posted - so how often do you check the site for new saved search sits?
I usually organise my time about a month ahead (apart from some long ‘keystone sits’ for the upcoming year), and sometimes find myself checking every couple of hours - especially for London sits, which are often ‘reviewing’ within a few minutes of posting.
I find that my notifications for saved searches mostly are adequate and give me time to apply. Of course that would probably be because I search for sits with lower total interest, although I do also get the opportunity to apply for very sought after locations when I open the tab immediately after getting a notification on my phone. That means that I have less use for searching myself - but I would say I do so a few times a week, - more random searches, really. But sometimes that could open up for more interesting possibilities - sits I wouldn’t have thought about.
I find i check every few hours. And usually i find the post and it already has 3 or 4 applicants. Alerts don’t work for highly competitive sits, like FL in jan
It seems you talking about the email notifications that have been made completely useless by the last “improvement”.
But the push notifications in the mobile app are faster. Not instant (the word used in THS advertising) but with a delay of between five and ten minutes. Yes, that may well be too late for a popular location like London with attractive pets.
The suspicion is that some members use bots to refresh the search page.
