I have a flight in 24 Aug, 7 am from İstanbul to Venice for 2 weeks.
I have a dog and a cat in the beautiful district of Sarıyer.
And I’d like to find a sitter as soon as possible.
I am glad I’ve found this platform and it seems like it operates in İstanbul too, but as some of you may know, PayPal is not in use in Türkiye and I tried my card and it didn’t work…
I’ve reached out to TrustedHouseSitters on Instagram and haven’t had a reply since last 3 days.
As many of us are just “ordinary people” taking care of animals when we travel or are on vacation, as you probably (hopefully) know (we are not paid sitters! ) it is perhaps a little bit of a short notice for a new member without reviews. So best to have a plan B.

Are you saying that you are trying to sign up for membership with Trusted Housesitters, and trying to pay with PayPal, and your payment will not go through?
Honestly, I think it’s too late to find a sitter in less than 9 days’ time.
Since you don’t even have a membership yet, I’d suggest that you invest your money into hiring a paid sitter that’s already in your city. Check out an Istanbul sitter FB page.
We’re sitters based in Turkey. That’s short notice to find someone for two weeks mid summer, the FB page suggestion from @Peonie19 is a good one or pay someone. The going rate is only 600/700 TL a day (£15) there so very cheap compared to a lot of countries. #betteroptionthistime
No,I don’t have PayPal,
I can’t have a PayPal account as a Turkish citizen technically,
my bank accounts are visa,mastercard etc. and it doesn’t accept it,I sent an email to support,thanks for your consideration.
Folks, I know it’s late but I just got my visa and it was a big unknown and I consider other options too, thank you for your consideration, I’ll check the Facebook group.
It could be a bank matter. There could be regional matters on using the card abroad, for instance. Happened to me once travelling. Had to call the bank to confirm it was me and that I actually was in that country. Had I thought about it before I left I could easily have fixed it online myself, in the settings for my card.
Could you also inform me about how people from Türkiye pay to be a member? Do you know if they’re paying with their debit card accounts on Turkish banks or if they use other methods?

Just looked at your listing - I’m booked up through the end of 2024 but your listing does look interesting. For future it is the kind of thing that I’d work to string together other European sits.
Maybe add some information about transportation to attract international sitters who won’t have a car. google maps shows the Haciosman subway but how close is your home?
