Hello, I am a HO and HS and I have had many great people sit for us but haven’t found the sitting part to be easy to navigate. I have specific dates and location (holiday time) that we are looking for a sit. Is it possible to message HO in the area who are listed on the site but not expressed a need for a HS? Thinking if they knew someone was looking it might open the opportunity to a sit.
Or offer our home as a sit for theirs.
No, THS doesn’t offer such a feature. The best you can do in those circumstances are to set up a standing search and get notified if sits get posted to meet your criteria or to favorite the profile of hosts you like, but who don’t need a sitter. Then they could theoretically invite you to sit, but that’s a long shot.
And you can write it in the intro of your profile. You can also set your location to the region where you would like to sit. It is indeed a long shot, but it might get you an invitation.
I have seen a couple of listings where HOs were only advertising for a exchange. It’s not common practice but I guess it’s not against THS T&C either.
