@sharondc Apologies, my point wasn’t that this sit could - or should - be extended, but that MS can curtail the sit based on message evidence that both parties are aware of the proposed curtailment and reasons for it.
There surely can be no more pressing reason to end a sit early than the death of a loved one. Sitters aren’t slaves, so of course everyone should be empathetic in this case. The OP is already having to deal with grief and loss, so that last thing they need right now isto be dealing with is an entitled pet parent.
@TimSmith I totally agree you should prioritise yourself, here. This situation just goes to show that everyone - pet parents and sitters alike - should have a ‘plan B’.
Member service can cancel the sit. You will probably need to have documentation that you have discussed it with the host and they have refused and that you need to be at the funeral, or similar.
Would very much appreciate if you are able to update what member service help you with in this regard. But remember - this is a matching service, not a prison. If i didn’t get help I would just give due notice and attend the funeral.
How awful you have encountered someone so lacking in compassion. Agree entirely with @Garfield. Please update us when you hear from member services, we have our fingers crossed for you.
