International sit info - send in advance

Whilst it’s well meaning of THS support to send a “do you have a passport, visa, return ticket, funds etc” email to international sitters (note to self @FureverPawsitive23) it is USELESS sending it out three days before the sit starts. A month before would be helpful if you’re going to do it. Tried to reply to support but rejected my email (also annoying) so noting it in here. We’re headed to Thailand on Sunday for a month long sit. Imagine the panic that would now ensue if we were missing any of the above?! :flushed::flushed: #earlierplease

Oh no! Way too late! F.ex. in Thailand your passport needs to be valid 6 months after your trip, and noticing that three days before going would be… a problem.

It would be most useful if it was sent as soon as an overseas trip is confirmed.

Exactly @CatsAndDog - would be a total nightmare! Luckily as they say. It’s not our first rodeo :raised_hands:t3::joy:

I agree. To arrange these paper items can take up to two months, depending which country you live in and are traveling to.

I wouldn’t agree to a sit if not prepared on application

That’s wise @Buz-Shirl & good practice for sure. My point is that if THS are trying to help members with international sits then they should send this info as soon as the sit is confirmed as @Silversitters says or, well in advance to help sitters that have missed something off the list (as it can happen to anyone)

Absolutely @bogie. We’re a multi cultural couple who always need different visas from each other wherever we sit so even more relevant that the “info/advice” email comes early! :raised_hands:t3:

Hi @Cuttlefish. Thanks for the feedback. I’ve sent it to the product team.

Personally, if I am sitting internationally I make sure I know the rules and regulations before I apply for the site. Saves a lot of time and heart break.
