Seriously. This is another own goal by THS. I think many members MIGHT be willing to forgive the fee if the promised changes and increase in service eventuate. But this beta really is garbage. When their own examples dont even work properly, why bother trying anything further or giving feedback. What am I meant to say? Your given examples dont work as expected. Had they done the least little bit of testing before release they would already know that. It gives a very poor impression of competence and lowers my expectations of anything useful eventuating considerably. And they were already low.
Just tried it “Washington state sits with EV charging” . I’d prefer that EV charging were added to the Filters, but I am happy that I got results. Still had to dig through the ad to confirm.
Comes across like unsupervised work done by a bad intern, unfortunately.
Bigger picture, shows a lack of company standards, under poor leadership.
Working for such places can stunt people’s career development and damage their resumes.
I tried a number of variations of inputs to find a sits where the dog doesn’t need walking (I have foot pain and did do a sit thru TH with a dog that just needed to play fetch in the backyard) but could not get any phrasing that would bring those possible sits; I love the photo of me with the dog that didn’t need walking - I looked so happy and am interested in finding future sits with dogs that don’t need walking
If TH can get the Beta search to work, I would consider the new fee when accepting a sit worth it
With this Beta, although currently some things we search for don’t give results now maybe the algorithm will learn search habits. At least that’s what AI says. One search that is coming up is 'Europe exclude UK ’
“Yes, a beta search engine generally improves the more you use it—both in the short term for your personal searches and in the long term for all users. Here is how your activity helps it get better: Personalized adjustments: In the immediate term, the engine’s algorithm learns your search habits, click patterns, and topic preferences. This allows it to surface more relevant results for you over time.Collective intelligence: Long term, your interactions provide developers with crucial anonymized data. Search engineers analyze user behavior, click-through rates, and error reports to fine-tune the algorithm, fix bugs, and improve the engine’s overall indexing.”
@systaran try …Central London no dogs no small animals no birds
@anon52083843 I had no luck with duration but you can refine to only dogs by excluding all other pets
Europe no uk exclude cats horses small animals poultry
It does seem the number of pets isn’t part of the algorithm yet. It’s either all dogs or no dogs. @Erlend
PLEASE ditch the ‘we have sent a 6 digit code to your email’ for logging in!
Are you advocating removing 2FA (2 Factor Authentication)?
I really don’t feel it is necessary for this website as we’r not shopping or banking.
However, if we MUST have it, could it at least be a text message on phone please?
If you are wondering why, I don’t have much data on my phone plan, so I only download emails when I have a safe wifi connection. This means that’s the setting I have by default. If I’m using data and the phone app, I have to go and change the settings just to get the code. As I can’t specify WHICH email to download, I risk wasting a shedload of data.
But yes, I’d be happy to lose the 2FA. Or at least have the choice to opt in or out.
I’m in favour of 2FA everywhere, not having it means my data is less secure. I want to keep as much personal information as I can out of the hands of the bad guys.
I do agree that other 2FA implementations might be better and my preference would be for an authenticator app, just like for this forum.
Hi i sent you something that (i think) aligns with your search that I came across by chance on FB. Not sure if it was just to try the beta search or if its a real sit you want to find. Happy searcing!
This post is in the wrong sub-forum but I can’t delete it.
I wonder how many critics in this forum of 2FA use a password manager? i have no idea what my passwords are for either this forum, or THS itself.
Sorry, that wasn’t meant as a reply to MTBer
After trying ‘Swimming Pool’ in the beta search a few times I am now getting a filter and indeed seeing homes with swimming pools.
I tried swimming pool as well. It returned many sits with pools — but also a number of sits without any mention or photos of pools, so… ![]()
I do wonder why it requires AI to do plain-word searches. That isn’t exactly rocket science to accomplish with already-existent programming strategies.
Same here, results with and without a pool.
