Yes very strange that they won’t do this. Surely it goes against their promise that sitters are vetted?
We filled out for both of us years ago, I don’t know how we did it, as it was soong ago. But maybe I am confusing it with another sitting site as we used to belong to more than one.
I generally sit by myself, but sometimes, when I am in CA, there is some days my daughter must stay with me. As I move her from campus to sublet, or from summer internship on an island and before campus move in. I have not had a problem with HO. I ask them. They know it is for a only for a few days of a sit and I have an air mattress for such a purpose. Though the last HO left me an air mattress for her.
Sounds fair enough, sitters have lives too and sitting isn’t the only thing going on for us. I’ve never had an issue with having friends accompany before and to be honest it usually means the house is left even cleaner as there’s two of us on it at the end.
I am having the same experience. My grandchildren join me, if they want during school holidays. It’s a wonderful experience for them and me. It’s amazing how many people like and support this idea. Six weeks of grandchildren this summer, then two in October. Two of my elder grandsons joined us in Oxford during the Easter holidays and we all had a ball.
I always ask or state it on my application. Even having friends over for dinner, I ask. It’s a common courtesy.
