Just a quick note to let you all know I’ll be on annual leave from 2025-06-05T23:00:00Z→2025-06-16T07:00:00Z
Our wonderful Mark B will be holding the fort while I’m away, and of course not forgetting our lovely Therese, Maeve and Sam who will be around when he’s not online.
I’ve not made any plans for my time off, I decided just to take it as it comes, and hopefully catch up with some family and friends.
Do any of you have any summer plans, other than the sits you’ve got booked?
I need to remember our friends in the southern hemisphere @ziggy! Your travel plans sound amazing please feel free to share photos or stories from your time away, I’m sure we’d all love that!
My friend in Brisbane says that winter over there is at times comparable to a Scottish summer
Yes, I’m south of Brisbane. Daytime temps are currently around 22-24 degrees and everyone is in full winter clothes and freezing I’ve had a “summer” in Scotland - hahaha!
The difference really blows my mind @Crookie - we’ll have highs of 15 here today and I’m in a t-shirt
My best friend moved over there around five years ago, and she sent some really funny videos of her lack of ability to cope with the sunshine over there. I think she’s accustomed to it now though, I’m kind of jealous.
Hubby and I are going to spend 8 weeks exploring England, Wales and Scotland. We’ve always wanted to do that, so this year we’re making it happen. One pet sit at the beginning, one at the end, and lots of non-pet time in between.
Enjoy your time off Jenny, whatever you do.
Not exactly summer but from October - December I’m travelling around Chile and Argentina, the big draw for me being Patagonia. No sits have come up in Buenos Aires yet, where I’m spending the first 10 nights.
Have a good rest!
Enjoy your break @Jenny whatever you end up doing.
I’m escaping our Victorian winter for three months in England. My fellow Australian Forum members in Queensland aren’t doing it tough there like we are down in the south who are having heavy frosts and minus temperatures
Tis 6c as a high today here in Christchurch. Ya know the weather’s bad as the Cook Straight ferries are cancelled for the weekend & many of the alpine passes closed at night. We rugged up well at the Crusaders-Reds game last night & thankfully our season seats are under the awning!
@TheMapleKiwi ooooh no thanks Give me a mid thirties day any day lol Love New Zealand though so I would bear the cold. for the privilege of being there
Enjoy your time off Jenny! We usually like to look for a couple of local house sits enjoying our Summer in Vancouver, B.C. We are looking forward to three cruises beginning in August. The first is to Iceland - never been there! Followed by a 21 day Transatlantic cruise. In November we are going to Spain, Portugal and Morocco where my husband and I met in 1979. We are revisiting the countries we met and celebrating our 45th anniversary!
