Hi everyone,
I am new to this and would love to get any advice on improving my profile. I haven’t had any applications yet, but I did have someone possibly interested after I invited them, but they have now not replied.
Any tips or advice would be amazing!
Thank you,
Kora

First I’d change the title of your post so people know you’re asking for assistance and not just introducing yourself. Also sitters may be more likely to see this in the Owner & Sitter forum (if that still exists?). I’m sure you’ll get plenty of helpful input soon

Hi @KoraSlade and Welcome. You have come to the right place.
Initial thoughts on your listing are that you have way too many photos and some are duplicates.
Also the way you outline the dog’s routine doesn’t leave the sitter much time to explore all the lovely places you mention. It appears to be 2/3 hours at the most.
I would want to know whether they would be happy in a car or on public transport so the sitter could explore with the dogs. Of course, if the dogs are happiest in their own surroundings and keeping to their routine the sit may still appeal to someone who works from home.
Hope that helps.

I think you mean in the sitter section of the forum
Hi Kora
You invited me to sit. This would best be in the sitters section, however sitters often read posts in the owners section

Your listing looks good. The only things I would change would be to say more explicitly and early on in the listing whereabouts in the Cotswolds Carterton is and what it has going for it e.g. Carterton is x miles west of Oxford etc and is a pleasant place to spend a few weeks because xyz. Also say what sort of house you live in e.g. detached/terraced since it’s not readily apparent from the photos. Lastly say why the sit would not be suitable for someone under 16 or else potential sitters’ imaginations could go into overdrive and imagine things about your dogs or home that aren’t true.
Good luck finding a sitter.
I love your pictures and your house is very nice. Your pups are one of my favorite breeds. Two walks a day is quite reasonable. I am not from your country nor planning to travel outside mine right now but I am perplexed why you don’t have applicants. Can sitters get to places without a car? Is there public transportation available or things to do within walking distance? Do you have a bike they can use? Sorry I can’t be more help but I like your listing.

Just answered my own question. You do list public transportation and walkable places.
It looks like a lovely sit with cute pups @KoraSlade - maybe change the title to “Chilled Cotswold sit with easy pups” or “Explore the Cotswolds with furry friends”. Something a bit warmer and more appealing perhaps. Good to add - Where do the dogs sleep? What do they eat? Any meds? How long are their two walks? All that would be handy info for sitters. Might trim down some of the pet photos & re order them as there are a lot of “fillers” in there (cover photo is fab BTW!) Add captions if you haven’t already and then tweak & relist & off you go. #worldsyouroyster

Overall it looks like the info many are looking for in a listing is there.
Many sitters want to know more about the bed. Measures (don’t use phrases as double, queen etc. as the meaning varies in different countries) and what sort of mattress.
If you are open to families with children 16+, are there other sleeping opportunities than the bed shown?

Thank you so much, this is really helpful!
Thank you, I appreciate this.
Hi @KoraSlade
You’ve received some great advice from experienced sitters here and I can’t really add anything. Hopefully you will amend your listing as per the suggestions as I can’t see that you have yet.
I really wish I could have helped you as I love Dachsunds, but it’s just bad timing for me this year.
I feel sure that you will get some applicants. Keep us updated.
