Listing that advises their partner will be at home the entire time

Hi all! Ive just seen an amazing sit for someone who is travelling for a couple months, but the ad clearly states that their partner will still be at home for the entire sit. They have stated that the point of the sit is to keep their pet company, as their partner works out of the home during the day.
Surely this goes against THS policy?? I was under the impression that HOs/partners/children, etc could not also stay there while using the services ot a sitter on this platform…

@AmyRobyn
Yes you are correct -third parties are NOT permitted to be at the home during the sit .

This listing should be reported to
Support@trustedhousesitters.com

THS say that they check all new listings edited they are published but forum members have noticed that there are many that break the T&Cs ….

I’ve also reported another sit where the husband would be present but this wasn’t indicated until I got a private message from hubby -the wife was due to be away…. THS wrote to me they were investigating it….

Thank you - I have reported this sit. The header also says “you’ll be sharing the home with my partner”, so it is very easy for THS to catch this one. Keeping fingers crossed that the HO is gently nudged that this isnt permitted on this platform :slightly_smiling_face:

Trustedhousesitters definitely do not check through new listings. My new hobby is reporting listings to them that do not meet the T&Cs

Don’t hold your breath!

I once spent hours sending examples of ridiculous listings with wrong locations. Nothing was done to fix the errors. Nobody even said “boo” to me. I wasted my time.

I was told by member services to stop reporting listings that break the T&Cs because there are so many they don’t have time to deal with them all !!!

But I think it’s important to notify them of the third party ones …. I reported one recently

“Part of the home is used by an elderly bed bound relative and their two carers “

this one was taken down …

Oh wow, that one is a very extreme example! Clearly THS don’t check listings before approving them!

But didn’t they backtrack on that @Silversitters ?

If I was a sitter I wouldn’t mind a sit with “third pastries”. But you are absolutely right that having anyone home other than the sitters is prohibited. :slightly_smiling_face:

Speaking of which – yet another one for the collection @Mark_B

Same here. THS , in my experience, has been irresponsible in responding to notifications of rule-breaking sits.
Sigh…all about the money…

I saw a similar posting. I didn’t realise it was against THS policy… i didn’t apply though, seemed very weird. As a solo female i would not consider it
