Loss of HO

Have you noticed the significant number of inactive members among your favorites or ads to which you have applied last years ?

I’m following a number of my favorites and a large number have disappeared.

Do you have any idea about the longevity of HO customer subscriptions ?

Co-incidentally, I noticed this just the other day.

I was having a look at all of my past sits, over 100, and quite a large % have left. I don’t know when they left or why but it is unusual.

In addition, when I click on their past sitters, I also see many who have left

I’ve noticed this as well. I just presumed that the past homeowners I’ve sat for have left due to the death of their pet(s) and no longer need to be THS members.

Only two sets of my former hosts have left. One had an old dog and the other rarely traveled.

The friend who normally sat the latter’s dog wasn’t available. Even though he used THS for only one sit, it saved him a bunch and gave his anxious dog time at home, rather than at a kennel.

Yet another reason to save your reviews! I just screenshot all of mine.

Many homeowners I know go on only one or two big trips a year that are worthy of engaging a sitter. The rest of the time they rely on friends or family members. I wouldn’t read anything into them leaving other than that they don’t plan on needing a sitter any time soon so why would they renew?

I don’t enjoy or apply for sits of less than a week - too much work moving in, adjusting, and moving out - so I’d rather have fewer HOs that travel longer, than lots of HOs that have only weekend sits. And there are LOTS of those.
