TrustedHousesitters conducted an in-depth survey of over 2,000 members to learn more about pets’ role in the remote working experience. The biggest takeaway? Pet sitting significantly benefits remote and hybrid workers, with roughly 91% of respondents agreeing that caring for pets has improved their overall remote working experience.
Yes, great point. I started pet sitting because I have been working remotely since the pandemic. The company of pets makes such a difference to me. Having a cat in my lap while I work, or taking a doggie for a walk during my breaks and after work!
I’ve been housesitting full time since February, working remotely. It can be hit or miss (older HO may not realise what fast wifi is, or what is a suitable work desk) but some people are really nice and clear their own desks for me because they know I’ll be working (makes them happy to know I’ll be home a lot with their pets!)
I’m curious how the question was actually phrased in the survey. A positive response for some could simply have meant that their overall remote working experience has improved simply because they have to pay less for accommodation now and can save money or spend it on other things! Nothing to do with the pets.
I love working remotely, period. Have been doing it for years. Being able to sit while telecommuting makes it even better. I’d heard about THS years ago, but checked it out only this year.
