@Jenny, quick note to say thank you. For context, I participate on one other Discourse forum (nerdy financial planning :nerd_face:) and it looks breathtakingly less visually attractive than THS Forum. Only two data points so not sure if THS is great or other bad, but thank you regardless.

I applaud special area for brand new members. Indeed I’d take concept a step further - restrict brand new members to this section (or read-only access to rest Forum). Some recent threads with new members seem surprisingly challenging - I don’t know if this is chance, marketing, expectations, or otherwise, I suspect that THS MS staff - not Forum volunteers - are probably better placed to support new members.

@Jenny, if I may offer a further idea for your new section … FAQ.
There seems to be considerable content duplication in some recent questions. A Frequently Asked Questions section with best practices may be super helpful to new members and save Forum volunteers from rewriting content for new enquiry. Such information may be better placed on THS website rather than Forum - beyond my paygrade :wink: - regardless, FAQ weblinks could be easily provided in Forum. There seems a tonne of great info in the Forum so probably doable to collate related content. Simply for illustrative purposes, here’s a few ideas-

  • PP - What is the typical process for PP listing, applications and execution?
  • HS - What is the typical process for HS applications and execution?
  • PP - What is the best way to attract HS applicants (proactive invitations, passive applications, favourites, etc)
  • PP - Why has my listing received no HS applications?
  • HS - Why are my HS applications being rejected?
  • PP - How can I optimize my PP listing?
  • HS - How can I optimize my HS profile?
  • PP - Should I make my vehicle available to HS?
  • PP - Should I charge utilities or other fees to HS?
  • Both - What are key THS policies for housesitting? (cameras, third party, …)
