We recently joined the site as we were heading away for a much needed 2-week break in Portugal and needed to find a dependable pet and house sitter that our German Shepherd dog and two cats would like and feel safe with. With it being an old, large property on a private Park Farm Estate, it wasn’t a straight-forward house either.
A bit of research from people’s feedback brought us to Debbie. She was excellent. The animals adored her and she would send us daily photo and video updates so we never had a worry. As we were about to be moving house, she also had to take care of numerous deliveries too! Not only did she take all of these in her stride, but also stayed on later when our flight home was delayed and even bought and cooked a dinner for us getting back. We cannot praise Debbie enough. It made our first sit as a home owner an absolute dreat. Thank you TrustedHousesitters, and thank you Debbie!
Edited post to remove sitter listing as per the Community Rules.
So happy you had a good experience! Hope that the extra tasks with deliveries etc. were agreed between you and the sitter before confirming the sit. Best of luck going forward.
Sadly, as newbies, we were not aware of 14-day deadline & so by the time we had moved house we had missed our 14-day window!
There doesn’t seem to be an easy way to post a review outside of this window, hence my sharing it here. Hopefully, someone connected to the site may see this and be able to help.
@NigelCharlotte You can contact your sitter to send you a link where you can do a reference for her instead. You could state in it that as you were new, you did not realise there was only a 14 day period in which to complete the review for her.
You can write Debbie a reference for her profile. Make it clear she sat for you through THS. I don’t think THS will help in this case as you missed the window and they’re pretty strict about that. If she reviewed you, you can also respond to her review and thanking her for doing such a great job.
