Hello, I completed my first house sit yesterday evening. I thought everything went great. I followed the owner’s instructions to a T, and even sent her a video of her pooch while I took him through his commands. We communicated daily via text. Her dog was a joy to spend time with, and I let her know this. Before she boarded the plane to return home, she sent me a lovely text message and said she would write me a 5-star review as soon as she got home. That was a day ago. I’ve already left her a 5-star review and sent her a reminder to write a review for me. I left her home in spotless condition and walked and fed her dog before I left. Should I be concerned? How much time does it usually take for an owner to submit a review of a sitter?
Not at all. She has 14 days to finish and will get nudged by THS also. She will be told you have submitted your review and that she get to see it when she submit hers.
HO have 14 days to write a review, so don’t panic yet. They can’t see your review until they have left yours, or after the 14 days.
I’m a HO, and usually write my review 2-4 days after the sit ends. That gives me time to settle in my home after the trip and also gives enough time to notice if everything is ok in the home (so far it’s always been ok, but you never know). I’ve been happy with all my sitters, so HO waiting couple of days before writing a review should not be a problem.
I shouldn’t worry. When folk get home they have so many things to sort out and some are straight back into the workplace or have family matters to deal with that are pressing. They have 14 days to respond and as you sound as though you ticked all the boxes IO’m sure they’ll be happy to give you a glowing review.
Give her a few days and then drop her a friendly text reminding her to do a review,
Give her a chance, she’s only just stepped off the plane. There was no need for you to remind her so soon as she said she would write you a review. She’ll also have got a message from THS saying you’d written a review. If you haven’t had her review in a week then I would ask her, saying it’s your first sit and you want to start building your reviews. Good luck!
Give her at least 3 days to get settled into her routine. If she has verbally told you that she will do it, then please trust her.
Thank you all for the great advice. The HO has submitted a 5 star review! I am so thrilled to be part of such a helpful and encouraging community. Looking forward to my next house sit!
