PARIS Bots so invasive no notifications of sits appear!

For a month I’ve been wanting to do a Sit in Paris in May.

So, I set up Alerts for anything in the City of Paris and also the area of Paris and put the dates at April 29 - May 21. In addition, I have checked for Paris sits 2-4 times a day.

Not once have I recieved a single alert that a sit in Paris was available…

And yet? When I search those 2-4 dimes I day? I see many that would have fit perfectly but are “Reviewing Applications.”

Never appeared as open, never got an alert. That’s been true every single time over the last 2-3 years I’'ve very pro-actively looked for Paris sits.

There is only one possibility that makes any sense: Bots are STILL active despite many HO/Sitters begging THS to stop that practice.

The impact: 99.9% of sitters will never see the most sought-after sits, 99.9% of Home/Pet Owners will never seen sitters who may have been better fits than ones who use Bots.

I’m not surprised that some Home/Pet owners are complaining about Sitters being less considerate in their sits: they may only see Bot candidates…

Thoughts?

Got notified for a new sit and hour or so ago, clicked immediately already reviewing. :person_shrugging:

I can accept when a notifiation goes out and i’m too late to see it.

BUT I cannot fathom HOW I have two different notifications set up and NEITHER sends an alert, yet when I check? Several Sits have posted, both reviewing applications.

Have you received notifications for other locations that you have a saved search for @ASASG?

@ASASG if its any help, I have found most of the Paris sits I would like to do and favorited them. I get quite a few alerts each week. So far dates dont match but at least I know when they come.up. So not searches which definitely have a delay and are all but useless for popular destination now. Find the listings youd definitely do and favorite them. Then you dont have to spend time getting them before you apply. Of course you would do further due diligence before accepting.

Nabbing a decent sit in Paris requires a huge amount of luck, in that you need to be looking at the listings when they appear - they literally go in seconds. The automated notification system is not instant, so it wouldn’t have time to pre-warn you. When we are looking for sits in desirable places, we check the listings many times a day to increase our chances.

I think it actually helps and you might have better luck if you go in search paris sits and then like /add them on top of what you’re doing, if that makes sense. You will get a notification for that particular sit, that is how I get my pet sit in Paris…I also sent a quick message to her knowing it would go quickly and then went back in to send her another message after I sent the first quick one before it got to the 5 applicants.
