As a homeowner, I’m really curious about where the really popular sit locations are—you know, the ones where the 5 applicant limit comes into play? I’m guessing Dublin, London, NYC, Honolulu? Where else do you have to apply very quickly or risk missing out?
I must say the only time I’ve ever experienced something like that was when I posted an item for free on Facebook Marketplace. I had to shut the post down after 10 minutes as there were SO many hits!!!
Although we have a very lovely sit opportunity, we usually wait days for applicants😥. On a positive note, however, the sitters we have attracted have been spectacular!!
SE Asia is near impossible to snag a sit unless you are online all day and night.
Major towns and cities in Italy. They get 5 applications within minutes of being posted.
I agree @ziggy adding the UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi). In order for me to land my sits in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and Dubai I was glued to the app refreshing my search constantly to ensure I was able to apply when these sits became available.
Madrid has been my white whale! NYC is hard too and London (although London is maybe a tiny bit less of a challenge). I can imagine all “holiday destinations” are super competitive - perhaps especially those that Brits like to travel to as there are so many British people using the app.
I was in a holiday destination, Estepona, on the Costa del Sol, very pleasant, close to the beach and to the old centre, cutest little dog.
It was not hard to get, I had only a few reviews when I applied. But it is not close to an airport or to a railway station.
Yes, we’re in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area, and the 5 applicant limit fills up fast!
Yes, @CatsAndDog, I keep an eye on your listing
Got a notification today about a sit I favorited in Rome. I clicked it immediately and it was already reviewing. Pretty much all major cities go to ‘reviewing’ within minutes.
South America, sits are very rare and usually fill up within 5 minutes. The only continent (if we don’t count Antarctica) with zero sits right now.
The French Riviera
Greece is almost impossible if you live in the states.
Mexico is very popular.
