Profile section order doesn't make sense to me

I’m updating my sitter profile and realise the profile sections are in a nonsensical (to me) order - I would expect the ‘about me’ section to appear directly beneath the carousel, but you have to scroll down to find it - the order I see when viewing on a desktop is ‘experience’, ‘reviews’, ‘references’, ‘about me’, ‘why I want to sit’, ‘availability’, and ‘preferred countries’.

I appreciate it’s not a major issue, but it is a bit of a bugbear and just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Is it possible to change the order?

THS intentionally placed experience first, because they said hosts cared the most about that. THS used to show the “About me” section first and they flopped it, to lead with experience. So no, it’s very unlikely that you’ll get your wish.

Oh, I see - still seems odd to me but I’ll get over it :woman_shrugging:

This happened a long time ago. What I did was I intergrated “about me” and “experience” into a smooth opening couple of paragraphs and then in “about me” I just mention that you can find out a lot by reading about my experience.:winking_face_with_tongue:

So all the information – about me and experience is up top.

Here is what it says in “about me”:

Trusted Housesitters has moved sections around on these profiles, so you’ll find a lot “about me” by reading the “Experience” section above or at least above presently in the web version! I’m also a homeowner, and happy to provide a link to my homeowner listing, linkedin, etc upon request.

Again, no matter why they say they did this, NOBODY asked for this.

I’m also a homeowner and recent changes to the listing have made it very difficult to update or edit.

THS made this change in 2023 but there was no announcement about it . Aside from a few forum members who noticed it . Some resourceful forumites came up with a solution to rewrite their experience section as an introduction. The majority of sisters remain unaware of the order illogical order that their profile information appears .

I seem to recall that the order it appears is different or the App to the webpage but I may be wrong about that .

Here’s a link to some of the previous discussions about this .

Please can someone remind me how I find my own profile as it appears when published . Not the page where I edit it .

If you just scroll down to the bottom of that page there’s a tab which says something like ‘view profile’. I only use the website, not the app so don’t know if it’s any different there.

Are you able to access Find a Sitter or Sitters depending on whether you’re using the app or website @Silversitters?

on the web - Dashboard - your profile - view profile

On the phone
click on your picture in the bottom right, then view and edit profile

Thanks for the reply @temba
Yes I can access find a sitter but it brings up everyone - how do I find myself ?
If I search by location there are 1524 sitters in my location ( apparently)

@Silversitters The easiest way to find yourself is to edit your profile (add, delete one character) and save — you´ll show up as no 1 in the search

Thanks for your reply @august - I can’t see that option on my dashboard  on the webpage - but I am using my phone to look at trustedhousesitters.com maybe that is the problem ?

For the App - I just wanted confirmation that what I see is how it appears when hosts look at it ?

Thanks @august for the suggestion-I just tried making an amendment saved it and then searched but we still don’t appear at the top - I checked the first 5 pages - maybe there is a time lag ?

Would be nice if there was an easy link to our own profile  I’m sure there was a way to do it before .

@Silversitters Alternatively, once you find your profile
Copy and store the id number of your profile, and then go to
THS/house-and-pet-sitters/l/NUMBER/?

@Silversitters Why not change your location to a small village or obscure place and that hopefully would make it easier to find your profile?

@Silversitters

Once you’re on your profile preview, you can cut and paste from the URL field up top.

Using my phone, I opened the THS app and went to my Pet Sitter profile because I am dual. This is the screen I see when I click the lower right picture of my face. When I click “view and edit profile”, I simply scroll because I’m automatically IN the view screen.
