Questions & Feedback On The Tiered Memberships

Thanks for this information.
I must have misunderstood as I do enjoy these benefits with my own personal property and contents.
What I meant to say is that my home and contents insurance does not follow me in insuring another home or another person’s property while I am staying there.

Oh too right. I always just assume the home owners have insurance to cover their own home and contents.

Hi Vanessa,

That discussion is not the right one for me to participate in. I’m asking about insurance for sitters not for owners.

Cathy

Are you talking about the cancellation insurance that is included if you upgrade to a premium membership?

Hi Cathy @cyee … Just jumping in for Vanessa as she is offline until Monday and I know she would want to get you the correct information.

There is a topic here on the forum discussing the insurance products on offer through your TrustedHousesitters membership, you’ll find it here … >>>>

https://forum.trustedhousesitters.com/t/a-conversation-about-insurance/

You’ll also find information on the site in the Help Section https://support.trustedhousesitters.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360015619898-What-is-Sit-Cancellation-Insurance

I hope that helps.

Yes, this thread doesn’t answer my question. So not sure why my question was moved.

Yes, I was wondering if anyone has used it and it was easy to get reimbursed by TrustedHousesitters if an owner cancelled a sit.

I agree. Insurance is not really for the benefit of the person paying for it. I’m glad the premium membership is not being taken up by many long term sitters. I worried it would lead to a bit of a sitters split and those with basic seen as less worthy. I also worried the algorithms might favour premium members. Hopefully not. The more insurance, security checks etc happen the more THS gets away from an arrangement based on trust and mutuality and that’s a real shame.
As for our own possessions, put them out the way of pets.

I joined THS last year as a Pet Sitter. I paid the Standard Annual Membership Fee of £79.00 which included thecbew member discount.
I am shocked & disappointed to find that to renew my membership on the same terms I am asked ti pay £129.00
How can an annual increase of £50 be justified?
THS appear to take their existing members for granted in believing that they will renew at the substantial, increased cost

Hi @dma - please take a look at the Discount Code thread (last updated 2 days ago). You may find some of the comments helpful.
see below the response from @Vanessa_A
Hi there… just a quick note to say thank you re the receipt. Angela and I have a regular catchup with the product team manager on Mondays so I’ve pre-prepared them with your query so that this can be included. I’ll certainly reach out after that meeting if more info is required by the team.

I will update you if I hear anything.

Hi @dma you have a Classic Membership which expires in April and is £99, last year represented a discounted price of £79.00 if you renew at the same tier this year you will pay £99 if you upgrade to a Standard the price will be £129.00 for additional benefits not included in the Classic membership.

I will tag @Therese who will connect with you, when she is back online, for clarification.

Hi @dma I will email you from membership services.
Kind regards
Therese

I have already mentioned that my settings indicated that my renewal membership would be in US dollars even though I am a UK resident and would have expected to pay in UK sterling.
This morning I received an email with 2 attachments - one is an Invoice for $US129, the second one is a receipt for $US129.
Neither has my name on it, just a number. I find this very strange as I don’t know of any other company that would issue these documents without the customers name.
So after 12 years of being a valued customer of THS, I am now just a number.
That says it all!

My renewal membership was in Australian dollars (i live in Australia), I do however get charged an international transaction fee on my credit card, my invoice & receipt had my email address on it

Due to THS problems with overload emails in the past THS asked me to open a new email address. This does not have my name within in.
I need to contact Membership Support to change my subscription to sterling
