The new Premium membership - options

hi, just a quick question as there have been a lot of Facebook discussions recently about the new Premium memberships, but cannot figure out what our options are. If we upgrade, can we try it? We wouldn’t mind seeing whether the services in the new memberships are useful, e.g. if we needed the vet line, try to use the airport lounge passes etc, but I am not sure we are going to be thrilled by the perks relative to the new cost of membership. So the question is: can we upgrade and see? What are our options to then downgrade again? It isn’t giving me that option. Most services that want to increase fees this much at least have a trial offer!

Hello @Aly and welcome to our community. We hope you enjoy connecting with other members around the world.

There have been quite a few discussions here on the forum about the new memberships which you’ll find by searching, but I’ve linked some information from the blog which will provide a summary of the options at each level.

If you upgrade you’ll pay prorata until the end of your existing annual subscription period and the system will work that out for you. I am not 100% sure about downgrading so I’m tagging @Therese who will be able to answer that question for you on Monday. She will also be able to help you with any other questions you have about the different membership tiers and help you with any decision making process.

As an existing member you still have access to customer support and the vet-line (just not the video vet option). The biggest changes are new options for insurance cover for both public liability and sit cancellation cover and so that makes it not possible to have a trial. However, I’m hoping this information will inform you more and if it raises more questions, Therese will be able to help. All the best, Vanessa

@aly To follow up from @Vanessa_A Once your membership is in place, you can only upgrade, and not downgrade. If you do want to downgrade your membership. You would need to make sure you cancel your auto-renewal, and on expiry of your account, let your account naturally expire, and then rejoin whereby you can choose the lower membership tier. I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any more questions as always happy to help. Therese
