We are just about to renew our year and have noticed that the plans seem to have changed dramatically and what we paid before now has the extra 10(whatever your currency) per sit. Anyone else seen a jump in 2026 in cost?
Also, the insurance states that it covers what the pet damages. Would, for example, a broken key in a lock be covered. Just a random, but possible example.
There are several, very long threads discussing booking fees. So yes, almost everyone in this forum is aware ( a quite a few a bit mad about it) of the raising costs of sitting with THS.
Re. what you called āinsuranceā, itās not an insurance as such and people often complain that itās not really useful. They would only consider your claims once the house or personal insurance has been claimed.

The THS public liability does cover āāAccidental damageāā ( sudden, unexpected and visible damage, caused by the sitter(s), which has not been caused on purpose)
However there are exceptions and limitations for example -
The minimum claim is $1000 &
The host must first make a claim against their own home insurance
So in the example youāve given a broken key in a lock - thatās wouldnāt be covered if the cost is less than $1000.
