@Martbright, sorry you are experiencing this and also sorry that there doesn’t seem to be much sympathy here.
Yes, you unknowingly went against the no 3rd party rule but that does not excuse this sitters behaviour. To continue messaging you from various numbers after you have closed comms is harassment. Yes the sitter might have been financially inconvenienced but all the more reason to act like a responsible adult and have a mature conversation with you. Sounds like you’ve dodged a bullet, as who knows what would have happened had the sit gone ahead and had something go wrong.
I think only course of action is to contact member services with proof of messaging.
I hope you haven’t been put off for future and better luck next time!
