Setting up Profile - But moving House

Hi everyone! I’m a complete newbie to THS, and I really need your advice please. I have just joined this site and I am building my profile. I have a slight problem. We are going away for 1 month in March 2024 and I really need to advertise now, however, we are moving house in February 2024 and I don’t have photos of my house that we will be moving to. What do you suggest I do, as I need to post my listing asap.
Thank you kindly, Amanda

Welcome @CavoodleMum - if you have photos from estate/ letting agent - with permission use these and make it clear in your listing that is the situation.

Be accurate about the new location in your listing.

About your move - Is it a done deal ? Are you confident that you will be in your new home in March and it will be ready for a sitter to stay ?

Thank you so much for your reply.

Yes, it’s actually my home that we’ll be returning to as we have been away working (for many years). The home has been rented out for years, so we only have photos from many years ago with our tenants furniture in.

I will be open and honest to any prospective sitters about the property and send them photos of our furniture in our current home (that will come with us).

FYI We have previously confirmed a sit , where the owners were upfront that the house was for sale and therefore they may have moved house ( but still in same area ) by the time of the sit .

They also discussed this with us before offering us the sit . We accepted on this understanding. As long as you maintain good communication with potential sitters, it can work.

Most sitters are flexible and adaptable we just don’t like surprises!

Thank you again.
After your valued advice, I completed my listing and have submitted it for approval.
Now we wait and hope that someone will apply for our 30 day house sitter request. :crossed_fingers:

Are you in U.K. ?

There are lots of full-time sitters in U.K. . If that is where you are based then I am sure you will find a sitter .
