I would like to apply for this HO and am wondering if there is a way to do so? It would be a first sit for me.

Shouldn’t go into review if there are only 2 applicants, how can you tell? Usually it’s 5. If it is in reviewing mode then you have to wait until they either refuse one or more of the first ones and it comes up again for new applications. #waitinggame
I believe the owner can pause applications even if not at 5.
There is the possibility that there were 5 applicants and it did pause and then 3 applicants have since cancelled their applications. It must be manually unpaused by the HO; it won’t unpause automatically. So it could show reviewing with only 2 applications

Owner may have received 5 and declined 3 as not suitable and is now in discussions with one or both of the others.

You don’t know what the whole history is. I live in a desirable location. Let’s say I have 5 applicants and decline three, but the other two are really good. I would have to unpause in order to get more applicants, but I might want to wait to do that until after I’ve spoken to those two as I might not need to see more. It might be a choice between those two people.
I’d suggest keeping an eye on the listing as the one or both of those candidates could drop out and the host may “unpause” to get more applications.
