Sitter abandoned our dog for a night

Absolutely! I would have no problem with outdoor cameras as a sitter. Indoor cameras would be another matter completely. But outdoor cameras can also help a sitter demonstrate that s/he is going out regularly for walks with the dog. They don’t only work against a sitter.

Did you send the evidence to THS ? They won’t act without “proof” as someone could make a false allegation.

Raise a member dispute - include the video evidence as your proof .

True… “Hey, I assume y’all can see me playing with your cat in the front yard…”

I have waved at cameras on my way in/out just in case they were recording and the HOs happened to look… and with no one else in the world having any idea where I was going when I went out for the afternoon, I’ve been known to hold up a little note “Going to….” Just in case something happened

Do let us know how this turns out. I’m glad your dog is OK.

THS asked me for a complete description of the situation and a lot of evidence (videos, alarm system logs, screenshots of chat threads) after I first called them. I provided all of that on the same day.

They finally wrote back to me today, saying that “I can confirm I have now passed this on to the relevant department so that they can review the evidence you have sent over. They will be in touch in due course to confirm. They will aim to communicate our decision and any action that we have taken within 14 business days.”

I think that this apparently was immediately treated as a member dispute, although no one has actually used that term.

Update: THS contacted me today to let me know that our sitter’s membership has been temporarily suspended while they investigate my complaint. I’m very glad to hear that and I assume that she will be removed from the platform as her behavior was so clearly unacceptable and I have such good documentation of it.

Thanks for the update @Rekap71
